DESCRIPTION: 

We are looking for a Staff Engineer for all of our Florida office locations to contribute to and experience all aspects of the project with the objective being to learn design and the profession.  The successful candidate will be driven to improve their own technical skills, to produce exceptional work, and to contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment that results in a higher level of service to clients and the community.

 

The ideal candidate will be able to meet all or most of the following expectations and responsibilities:

  • Learn and improve the use of design software and techniques.

  • Develop and prepare engineering design plans for drainage, utility systems, and other related site improvements using industry standards under the supervision of a team leader and/or licensed engineer.

  • Develop and prepare specifications for the projects under the supervision of a team leader and/or licensed engineer.

  • Possess thorough working knowledge of applicable standards, codes, practices, policies, and performance standards required to design and process various projects.

  • Perform drafting and design skills under direction of team leader and/or licensed engineer.

  • Engage in continuing education.

 

EDUCATION, REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental/Mechanical or Structural Engineering degree is required.

  • Experience in the field of engineering, designing, or construction is preferred but not required.

  • Some knowledge of municipal and state permitting requirements for specific engineering discipline is preferred but not required.

  • Knowledge in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred and Microsoft Office Suite is required.

DESCRIPTION: 

We are seeking to add an innovative Professional Engineer for all of our Florida office locations to enhance the company’s productivity by designing, developing and managing construction on a wide range infrastructure projects. CES offers infrastructure engineering and construction related services to cities, counties, ports and airports in the areas of water, wastewater, stormwater management, and structural engineering, providing projects that are economically viable and environmentally sustainable.

 

The ideal candidate will be able to meet all or most of the following expectations and responsibilities:

  • Work closely with internal project design team in development of Construction Documents while ensuring the project's compliance with applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.

  • Exercise sound judgement on design decisions and in application of standard methods.

  • Working with a team of design engineers and CAD designers, assure Quality Assurance and Quality Control throughout the project.

  • Work closely with Senior Project Engineer and Project Management Team in creating efficient project methods along with maintaining project schedules, project costs/budget and project profitability.

  • Perform material quantity and cost calculations.

  • Conduct on-site investigations and analyzing data as necessary.

  • Assess potential project risks.

  • Comfortable networking with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements, and representing them on plans along with in the field.

  • Active in appropriate professional societies.

 

EDUCATION, REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental/Mechanical or Structural Engineering degree.

  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the field of engineering, designing, or construction.

  • Understanding of permitting procedures for specific engineering discipline.

  • Strong grasp of regulatory requirements and administrative code for specific engineering discipline.

  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D.

  • Consistent focus on clarity, accuracy, and completeness of work product.

SENIOR CAD TECHNICIAN

 

POSITION: Senior CAD Technician

DESCRIPTION: 

We are looking for a Senior CAD Technician for all of our Florida office locations to plan and prepare high-quality detailed drawings using AutoDesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD for civil, mechanical, structural, water, wastewater, treatment plants and/or storm water projects supplied by engineers and designers. 

 

The ideal candidate will be able to meet all or most of the following expectations and responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other CAD Technicians to understand the design requirements and provide technical advice.

  • Provide accurate, detailed and to scale drawings.

  • Research and obtain standards/codes required by clients and jurisdictions to ensure drawings meet local and state requirements.

  • Quantify the volume of materials identified in design drawings.

  • Present working drawings for use in all stages of the project, tender, manufacture/construction and installation.

  • Organize/maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in accordance with Company standards.

  • Conduct site visits and surveys when required.

  • Assist newly arrived Engineers and Technicians with navigation through the CES drafting process and filing system, including the use of proper server organization and file nomenclature.

 

EDUCATION, REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Undergraduate degree (or currently enrolled in university) in a related career is preferred.

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the field of design.

  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, WaterCAD.

Americaribe is currently looking for an Estimator Engineer to join our team.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Estimator Engineer will be a self-starter professional, developing estimates with supervision.  Must be able to meet critical deadlines, have the ability to coordinate work with team members. Candidate will work in the development of take-off and estimates.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct initial analysis of drawings and specifications to ensure required documentation is present

  • Develop full-scope estimates based on construction documents

  • Critically analyze the bid documents and understand risk and opportunities and articulate those to management

  • Gather and monitor actual cost vs. estimated cost

  • Provide detailed quantity take off of specific trades

  • Create detailed crew and production cost estimates and review prices with Pre-Construction Manager

  • Attend on-site pre-bid/proposal conferences and site visits

  • Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work and accept, review, and analyze subcontractor quotes for best value

  • Prepare project bid status reports and ensure compliance with all specifications and contract Statements of Work and Bid Invitations

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least five (5) years working as an Estimator, performing the duties described above

  • At least five (3) years of experience working in building construction

  • Candidate must have a BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field of studies

  • Must have experience with On Screen take Off

  • Experience with Revit a plus

  • Ability to read, understand and organize construction plans and specifications

  • Ability to work independently, and manage a team, while exercising great judgment

  • Strong Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines 

  • EXCEL proficiency a must
