Brief History

ASCE has been present in Miami since 1927. It started as the Miami Section in 1927 and continued until 1960, then in 1961 it evolved into the South Florida Section. Due to a considerable increase in memberships, several Branches were founded. Palm Beach Branch (1952), Broward Branch (1969), Southwest Florida and Miami Dade (both in 1976), all under the umbrella of the South Florida Section. South Florida Section merged with the Florida Section in 1999. Presently, we have the Florida Section and twelve branches throughout Florida.
